The new initiative......
IIT Madras has had a rich legacy in terms of entrepreneurial ventures that have been set up by its alumni. From the likes of Gururaj "Desh" Deshpande of Sycamore Networks to Ramaswami Subramaniam of Subhiksha, the institute has been responsible for giving to the world ventures that have created jobs, simplified life and made us proud. Trying to live up to that legacy are several alumni as well as students who have gone on to set up firms across
various sectors viz technology, culture, education, travel, that seem to hold great promise.
Being done for the first time Start-Up Showcase was intended to be a platform for some of those firms to exhibit their ideas and also for the budding student entrepreneurs of the institute to interact with peers already on their chosen path.
